2024 Ford F-150 Lightning Flash Review: Fast as the Flash

We’re back in a Ford F-150 Lightning and this time it’s a Flash trim. Although the Iconic Silver Metallic color wouldn’t be my first choice in color, it is still a nice shade to a safe color. I would personally go with a louder color like Rapid Red Metallic or Antimatter Blue Metallic. The 20” Alloy Dark Carbonized Gray wheels were the perfect shade to accent the silver. The Lightning’s exterior zone lighting made sure you could see everything around it. The frunk was also well illuminated which made loading and unloading groceries really easy.

You get inside and the sea of grey continues. This Lightning was equipped with the dark slate cloth interior. I was surprised at the premium quality of the cloth and I wasn’t really caring for a vinyl/leather option. The adjustability of the seat was incredibly welcoming to short or tall drivers. The adjustable pedals is always a welcoming addition as it give me piece of mind that my shorter wife isn’t positioning herself too close to the airbag to reach them.

Equipped with the extended range battery, that meant this Flash trim was delivering 580 horsepower and 775 lb.-ft. of torque with a range of 320 miles per full charge. I gotta admit that the first time I drove the Lightning, I felt sick from the shear acceleration it has. Once I was prepared, it was extremely addicting. The low positioning of the battery helps deliver a smooth ride and not the typical top heavy feeling of standard trucks.

Overall I was happy to be back in a Ford Lightning and this Flash trim offered a great package.
