POWRi at Texas Motor Speedway 2025

The POWRi racing series made a stop to the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track.

The weekend consisted of the 410 Outlaw Sprint series winged and non-winged as well as the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint cars.

It was my first sprint car race that I’ve been to and photographed. As always, I had my ear protection and thankfully I did because the cars were loud! That’s because the 410 means the tube framed cars are powered by a 410 cubic inch V8. With them producing over 900 horsepower, they are easily able to get those massive Hoosier tires spinning.

With the qualifying laps average about 13 seconds around the TMS dirt track, there was little room for error or you’ll easily get lapped. When it got to the racing, the V8s roared next to each other as the they slid sideways into the turns. Some of my favorite liveries included the Taco Casa car of John Carney II.

The 15H car of Sam Hafertepe Jr was dialed in and set the quickest qualifying lap of 12.876 seconds with the next best time being almost .2 of a second. He went to dominate from pole to take the win for the weekend.

I’ve included the link to the race results below and my pictures of the weekend. I’ll definitely be adding more Sprint series racing in my future coverage.
