2024 Genesis GV60 Performance Review: Mean EV
Although the 2024 Genesis GV60 Performance looks friendly and bubbly on the outside, it can have a mean and scary attitude! I fell in love with the Atacama Copper color that had a subtle way of capturing everyone’s attention.
You get wheel sizes from 19” to 21” and thankfully this one had the largest in the range. The GV60’s wheel openings are massive and the largest size made it look proportionally correct. The rear glass seamlessly matched the body panels and had a nice rear spoiler to match to. I did have a problem with the spoiler being in the middle of the rear view mirror visibility but I guess you have to sacrifice some things in the name of beauty.
Speaking about beauty, you get into the Genesis GV60 and the bright white Nappa leather is eye candy! You get a sense of design freedom given to the Genesis designer. The switches and buttons in the GV60 have such a pleasing futuristic look and feel to them. One of my favorite things about the interior had to be the ball shifter that rotates to uncover the rotary style knob to switch gears. Add the ambient lighting and you’ll want to be inside the GV60 from daytime to nighttime.
Under the hood is where the Genesis GV60 Performance was my fear generator! The 320kW dual motor was outputting 429 horsepower, which meant you can go from 0-60 in 4 seconds! I was surprised at how the power was readily at any speed. For everyday driving, I do recommend using the eco drive mode so make throttle response manageable. Going to comfort or sport will require you to be gentle with your right foot.
