2024 Genesis G70 RWD Review: Grown-up Fun

Getting a Genesis press vehicle is always exciting and the 2024 G70 RWD 3.3T Sport Prestige is no exception. The Kawah Blue color sparkles as the sunlight hits it. The color reminds me of the shade of blue that Honda used in their late 90s Civic Si that was so iconic. I’m a big fan of the split headlight design, along with the big Genesis crest-shaped grille. The big 19” sport alloy wheels allowed the red Brembo brake calipers to be seen. I was surprised to see that the tires used were narrower than the wheel, causing a little of a stretched look to them. Not a big concern though since performance was definitely there, but beware of curbs. The soft ducktail built into the trunk lid, has to be my favorite design element of the G70.

Getting inside, the use of high end materials, along with unique designs, made it hard for me to get out of the G70. Although I’m not a fan of light colored interiors, the Fog Gray color added a high end luxury look to it. Thankfully the front seats were vented to help with the Texas summer weather we were experiencing. The infotainment screen was nicely laid out and the hard buttons for different sections of the user interface made it a really easy system to experience.

Under the hood, the 3.3L Twin Turbo V6 delivered 365 horsepower and 376 lb.-ft. of torque. The power is delivered to the rear wheels but there is also an AWD version. I’ll be honest in saying that I’m glad I haven’t experienced the AWD version because I feel like it might take away from the experience of getting the rear to kick out when the turbos spool up. The limited slip differential has been phenomenal mid-corner by teaming up with the the suspension and tires to provide the confidence at the limit.

Overall, when I got to drive the 2024 Genesis G70 RWD 3.3T Sport Prestige, it reminded me of the first time I reviewed the 2022 model. The experience was like having your large music library and it shuffles to that one song that brings back great memories.
