2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate Review: Ultimate American Luxury

I’ve reviewed the GMC Yukon Denali and it has been an SUV that I’ve recommended many times. When GMC announced the 2023 Yukon Denali Ultimate, I was intrigued at how they were going to raise the bar to their flagship luxury trim.

Starting on the outside, the black chrome was such a nice touch to an otherwise in your face massive bright chrome grille. What made it even better was the fact that GMC named it Vader Chrome.

The 22” wheel design had multiple depths in the design that looked stunning. The brake pedal still had the stiff feel that I’ve encountered in many GM vehicles. It requires a large amount of force to initiate any bite to them. i figured it was caused by cold brakes but even after hard use of them, the pedal feel remained the same.

Inside, I was greeted bu full-grain leather seats. The color was amazing and the topographical map design of Denali peak was that ultimate touch. The headrests also had a stereo pair of Bose speakers which brought the total to an 18-speaker system. The seats also had a massaging function but was cumbersome to control from the seat’s side buttons as the touch screen selection was not available.

The 6.2L V8 helped get this Yukon moving. The throttle response was instant as you’d expect from a naturally aspirated engine. I would’ve personally have gone with the 3.0L turbo diesel engine to allow for a tank range of over 700 miles.

Overall, GMC has raised the bar to their luxurious Denali brand with this Ultimate.
