2022 Grand Wagoneer Series III Review: American icon
When you create a flagship model, you spare no expenses and showcase what the brand is all about. That is what Jeep has done with the new Wagoneer. It has gone as far as branding it as its own separate auto brand. Don’t worry though because it still has the great things from the Jeep name but at an elevated level. When the 2022 Grand Wagoneer Series III showed up, we could barely fit it in our driveway. It is big in every sense of the word.
Starting off with the exterior, an intrigued stranger that approached me in my curbside spot, said it looked like a glass house on wheels. That’s because the window openings are fairly large and the tri-pane panoramic sunroof allows a large amount of natural light into the 3 rows of seats. Although the 22” wheels may be massive on other vehicles, they look proportional on the Grand Wagoneer. They were also a good size to fill the wheel wells when you decide to lower the Quadra-Lift air suspension.
With the Quadra-Lift on the lowest setting, it was easy to get in the spacious interior. We were greeted with premium black leather and beautifully accented wood pieces. Then your attention is taken away by one of the seven screens that are in the Grand Wagoneer. Our biggest surprise was the optional $1,995 rear-seat entertainment system. Normally some brands offer similar options but lack the simplest thing of an operating system in them. The Grand Wagoneer doesn’t disappoint with the offering of having an Amazon Fire TV system on each screen. With the built in Wifi, it allows your middle row to enjoy their favorite shows.
Under the hood, the 6.4L V8 offered great power to move the Grand Wagoneer. The cold morning starts with the key fob made for a symphony of American rumbling. The 8-speed auto and 4X4 system helped deliver the power down in an impressive way for such a large vehicle.
Overall we fell in love with the 2022 Grand Wagoneer Series III. Now to find the $109k to ask Jeep to let us keep it.
