2021 Ford Ranger Tremor Review: Little Truck that Could

The 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor was easy to spot as it was being delivered. In a world full of gray, black, and white, opt for the loud colors like Cyber Orange. I have to admit, it has been over 15 years since I’ve been in a Ford Range. As soon as I got in, nostalgia hit me hard! It was my high school friend’s teal colored 90s Ranger. It was a manual and remember him telling me to launch it hard and off it went uneventfully but I had the biggest smile on my face. I was excited to relive that moment.

Like I mentioned, the Cyber Orange color suits the Ford Ranger like the teal color did to the 90s model. The off-road Fox Shocks also helps the Ranger stand above many trucks and SUVs. The 17” wheels are wrapped in tall General Grabber tires that despite their aggressive tread pattern, were really quiet and smooth.

You get inside and you’re greeted with a lot of black material. The leather seats had Tremor stitched and were big and comfortable. The shape of the steering wheel felt nice except the leather wrapping felt like a low quality material. The infotainment system is thankfully getting a much needed upgrade for the next generation.

Performance-wise, this is where the Ford Ranger excelled. Its 4-cylinder turbocharged engine had a great boxer-like rumble. The 10-speed automatic transmission had great ratios to keep the turbocharger spooling and delivering constant power.

Overall the 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor was a great little truck for the week. Although it has grown some size from previous generations, it still offered a fun small truck experience.
