I’ve driven Chevrolet Silverados but this 2022 High Country was a little different. This was the Silverado I had been waiting for since I reviewed the first one. From afar, the Dark Ash Metallic color looked like any regular black color. Once I approached it, the shades of purple, green, and blue made an incredible looking gray color. The big 20” wheels paired with the all terrain tires, gave this luxury trim some ruggedness to it. The badging all over let everyone know that you checked off some options when building the Silverado.

Getting in the Silverado High Country, meant you’ll be greeted with luxury touches. The first indicator was the Nightshift Blue interior color. In the shade, the interior looks black, but when the sun hits it, you can see the dark blue tone to it. The wood trim along the doors and dash added luxury to the Silverado. The other items that stood out were the answer to my biggest complaints of the early Silverados that I tested. We now had 2 massive screens to replace a dated gauge cluster and the previous tiny infotainment screen. With the built in Google Maps, I was able to easily set my destinations.

Under the hood we had the 6.2L Ecotec3 V8. The power was plentiful and so was the symphony of cylinder sounds. The revised shock tuning really fixed the truck-like feel the previous Silverado had when you went over bumps. The brake pedal was also improved and didn’t require the massive amount of force for them to be active.

I was overall surprised that nearly all the things I disliked in the previous Silverados were addressed in this newer model. This now makes it difficult to decide which truck I’m considering to get.
