2024 Genesis GV70 Review: Luxury and Performance
The 2024 Genesis GV70 press loaner came in the incredible Cardiff Green color. The big grille was a subtle black chrome that didn’t take the spotlight from the green. Adding to the beautiful styling, the black 19-inch five spoke wheels were a classic touch with a twist. One of my favorite design elements are the split headlight and taillight designs that add a futuristic look to the GV70.
As you get into the GV70, the vanilla colored interior elevates the level of luxury. The different finishes like leather, brushed aluminum, and carbon fiber, all work in harmony. Adding the Sport Advanced Package will get you the Lexicon Premium Audio option that sounded loud but clear. I was let down with the lack of wireless Apple CarPlay since the wireless charger was an exceptional design that didn’t have any of the typical issues other brands encounter.
Under the hood, the 3.5L twin-turbo V6 was delivering 375 horsepower and 391 lb.-ft. of torque. The GV70 drivability was a bit tough for city and every day driving. If you find any twisty road, get ready to be rewarded with an incredible experience. What I’m trying to say is that the GV70 does not like to be driven slowly as the throttle is extremely sensitive even in eco mode.
Overall, I’d like to consider the 2024 Genesis GV70 as a SUV but the drivability in every day traffic scenario made me look elsewhere. It’s out of character for me to say this but I think the less power of the 2.5T engine might be the better option.
