2023 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible Review: Meet Your Heroes
The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible was one car I had my eye on to review. The saying goes, “Don’t meet your heroes” and they were wrong with this Corvette. I’ll preface it with saying that this is the first Corvette I’ve ever driven and I think it might’ve set the bar too high for the previous generations.
There’s no denying that a red convertible will get everyone’s attention and this Corvette does just that. With the new generation’s design, some people have said that it resembles some Ferrari lines. To that statement I’d question if that’s a bad thing? The new mid-engine configuration allows the design to have a more hyper car look to it.
Opening the door to the Corvette made me pause to admire it. Although I’m not a fan of light interior, the Graystone option did look nice. The exposed carbon fiber parts added to the very sporty seat design. The all flat-sided steering wheel was my favorite component of the Corvette’s interior.
It’s unfortunate that if you go convertible, you’ll have to compromise at not being able to see the 6.2L V8 through the transparent cover that the coupe has. The important thing is that you can still experience its power through and hear the performance exhaust scream with the top down. The power delivery was extremely linear and always available at any RPM range.
Meet your heroes if they happen to be a 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible! This car was more than just getting me from point A to point B. The Corvette offered an experience that not many cars can do.
