2022 GMC Yukon Denali XL Review: XL Than Life
What’s larger than large? The answer to that question would be the 2022 GMC Yukon Denali XL. The XL model brings the Yukon from 210 inches to 225.2 inches in overall length. The additional length was noticeable when I tried parking it in my driveway. I needed to be inches from my garage door to avoid my HOA from sending me an email that the Yukon was obstructing the sidewalk. Even though the Yukon had multiple Denali badges, the massive front grille is enough to let others know this is a premium model. Add the massive 22” wheels to the mix and we’re definitely in XL territory. Even though this may be the largest passenger vehicle I’ve driven, it was extremely easy to get into tight parking spots with its excellent HD Surround View camera system.
Getting into the Yukon Denali was a luxurious experience. Lowering the air suspension made conquering this behemoth a breeze. The illuminated and powered side steps deploy to add to the ease of entering the Yukon. The leather seats have Denali stitched on them, as well as have both heating and venting options. The gauge cluster’s digital display allows you to customize as much or as little info you want to see. The large infotainment screen with built in Google Maps helped find your favorite restaurant.
Under the hood, the 6.2L V8 delivers 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft of torque. The 10-speed automatic transmission made for smooth yet fast shifts. With a max towing capacity of 8,200 lbs, when properly equipped, allows for a wide range of toys being towed.
The 2022 GMC Yukon Denali XL makes for XL fun and comfort to share with many.
