2024 RAM 1500 Limited Review: The Last of the Hemi V8s

The 2024 RAM 1500 Limited may be one of the last HEMI V8 powered trucks, but it is going out with its head up high. I’ve driven many RAMs and multiple Limiteds, but this one was definitely one of my favorites. Let me explain why.

Starting on the outside, the Patriot Blue color worked so well with the chrome that comes with the Limited trim. I loved that the large 20-inch aluminum painted and polished wheels still had a tall sized tire to help with ride quality. This 1500 did have 4-corner air suspension which I always say is the best riding truck suspension across all brands. If you need storage, this RAM has lots of it. One of my favorite things is the RamBox located on the outer rear fender. Use them to store your tools or fill it with ice and drinks.

RAM trucks interiors always excite me with their choice of materials, colors, and design. The last Limited I reviewed, it had premium cloth interior that embarrassed some other brand’s leather offerings. This 1500 did have their premium leather option that took luxury to a whole other level. The stitching design that was accented around the entire interior was done very well. It was a shame that the seat headrests didn’t offer anything to follow. The big 12-inch vertical display made everything easy to access. Thankfully this RAM still has physical buttons for things like the climate control system.

Under the hood, the last of its kind 5.7L HEMI V8 was paired with an 8-speed auto. Although the new Hurricane inline-6 is better in power and efficiency, I’m going to join those yelling on the internet about RAM losing its V8. If it performed poorly, I don’t think people would care, but this V8 was smooth at power delivery. The V8 sound also added to the experience of driving a truck in Texas. I can only hope that the Hurricane’s improvements can overshadow the experience of the HEMI.

Overall, it’s always nice to have a RAM truck for a week and this 1500 Limited was no exception. With just the right amount of easy to use tech and luxuries, you’ll want to consider this for your next family or toy hauler.
