2024 Ford Bronco Raptor Review: Turned up to 11

The 2024 Ford Bronco Raptor is the definition of cranking it up to 11! I’ve driven many Bronco trims including the Raptor, and it is exciting every single drive. The loaner we go this time wouldn’t be my usual color selection based off seeing it on the online builder. In person, the Shelter Green color, has to be one of my top choices for Bronco color. The heavy metallic finish had great tones of green and even some yellows in it.

The wide painted fenders made sure you let others know that this isn’t your basic trim level. As if that wasn’t enough of the Raptor trim indicator, the massive 37-inch tires should do the trick. I had the Bronco Raptor during the week of SEMA and had seen that a powered soft top was created for the Bronco lineup. It was an aftermarket part but it seems as if Ford will be offering it as an option so we’ll have to see.

Getting in was simplified with the help of the handle located on the dashboard. The optional leather trimmed seats were extremely comfortable with the power adjustability. I was left wanting a seat memory option after my wife kept taking the keys from me and readjusting the seat. With this being the Raptor trim, that meant the off-road hero switches were all available. You’ll be able to independently lock the front and rear lockers, have Trail Turn Assist, sway bar disconnect, and the traction control button. Another favorite option of the Raptor is the pre-wired Aux switches that offer a satisfying audible sound when used.

Under the hood, the 3.0L EcoBoost V6 offered 418 horsepower and 440 lb.-ft. of torque. I was caught in a really bad storm and had to use the Slippery G.O.A.T mode which activates 4 Auto. It was a precaution as I’ve been able to get lower powered 4-cylinder Bronco to slide under power and wet conditions. The 4 Auto did it’s job to allow me to get the power down under heavy acceleration in the storm.

Overall, you can’t go wrong with a Bronco, much less a Raptor. I’d love to see the Ford offer a Raptor R to get true bucking Bronco.
