2022 Ram 1500 Rebel Review: The TRX Lite

The 2022 Ram 1500 Rebel was hard to miss with the Flame Red color. I think it’s safe to say that I’ve driven more variations of the Rams than any other vehicle. I’d say the my favorites rank TRX, PowerWagon, and then the Rebel.

The front bumper of the Rebel has been modified to allow a better approach angle. The grille’s black color also looks really good with the red color. The hood sports multiple vents that add to the aggressive front end. The 18” wheels with the massive Goodyear Wrangler tires makes sure that it adds some style to the extremely functional off-roading tire.

This Ram was also equipped with the G/T package which gave the interior some big and comfortable leather seats. They were also vented and heated which made it great when we had some snow and then summer-like heat within the 1 week span. The steering wheel was your typical Ram wheel but had paddle shifters. The Rebel was also equipped with the Performance Packages which added things like drag racing telemetry.

Under the hood, the 5.7L V8 Hemi eTorque engine deliver tons of power. The mild hybrid system helps deliver a boost of power when towing or off the line. The sound of the V8 was addicting to coming out of the black exhaust tips. This loaner was also equipped with the Mopar cold air intake which really dressed up under the hood.

We really loved the Rebel trim of the 1500. If you’re wanting a great off road ready package from the dealer, but don’t want to spend TRX money, the Rebel is the way to go.
