2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Review: The Efficient People Hauler

The 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is one of those “hate till you own one” vehicles. Yes there’s still a stigma of it being a minivan making you someone that’s given up on being a cool person. That is of course till you’ve driven the Pacifica and start heavily considering it your next vehicle.

The Fathom Blue Pearl color that this was optioned out with, has a deep blue, green, and even purple look to it. The wheels would’ve been nice to have a large option but would’ve suffered in efficiency. One of things I’m glad Chrysler did was put the door tracks underneath the rear glass. It is a significantly cleaner design than others that put it on the metal work itself.

You get inside and the caramel colored leather interior shows that this is truly the Pinnacle trim. The seats are incredibly comfortable and had excellent heating and venting performance. If Chrysler ever implemented massage options, it would be hard for me to stop driving the Pacifica. With the hybrid model having the batteries under the second row, you do lose the functionality of the stow away seats. You’ll still have the function on the third row and the second row seats can be completely taken out should you need to use it as a cargo van.

Under the hood, the 3.6L V6 gets help from a hybrid system to deliver 260 horsepower to the front wheels. Its unfortunate that the hybrid model does not have an all-wheel drive model. It may be due to the battery positioning but I feel like that would be the ultimate configuration for areas with inclement weather. The hybrid system is also full automatic in the sense that you can’t select when to use the battery. It would be nice to see the implementation of Jeep’s 4xe system that allows you to be full electric, hybrid, or gas only.

Overall we really loved having the 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid for the week. If you need to haul people, make a large Ikea run, or both, you’ll want to go for the Pacifica.
