2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Diesel Review: Domesticated Diesel
A big red 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Diesel showed on my driveway. It physical presence and color were very hard to ignore. I’ve always been a fan of box shaped designs, and the Silverado checked that box.
The big chrome bumpers adds to the larger than life appearance. The badges on the Silverado lets everyone know this was optioned with the Z71 off-road package, Duramax Diesel, and of course the big Texas Edition badge.
Getting to the tailgate, you can see the body lines of the Multiflex tailgate. After reviewing multiple trucks with different tailgate configurations, the Silverado may be my favorite one. Folding the top part down makes for a great work surface at a usable height. Bringing down the rest of the tailgate offers a wide step that makes entrance into the truck bed extremely easy.
Getting inside the Silverado was made easy with the deployable step. Although it did have a small wobble to it, the step was easily able to hold my weight. Once you get inside, the big comfortable seats makes for easy road tripping. The only small things in this truck were the gauge cluster and infotainment screen. Not to worry though as Chevrolet has already shown the new massive displays that will replace them.
Under the hood, the 3.0L Turbo-Diesel engine delivered all the great things of a diesel. Massive low end torque made for awesome acceleration from a complete stop. The 10-speed auto helped deliver that power out to the wheels in an incredibly smooth way.
After having the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Diesel, it has made my truck shopping choice even harder!
